Quinta do Beijo Red Reserve 2019

As the granite lagares on our estate are still used every harvest, we are pleased to present our Quinta do Beijo Reserva Tinto 2019, which has undergone the entire foot treading process. It's also a very special wine for us, as it takes us back to the oldest processes of making wine and thus manages to maintain a century old tradition.

With Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo) varieties, the grapes come from old vines that are around 80 years old. The fermentation process takes place naturally in the stone granite reservoirs "lagares" and the wine is then placed in new and used French oak barrels to age during 12 months.

On the nose it has intense aromas of wild berries, such as strawberries and cherries. It is also spicy with vanilla and finished with a complex woodiness.

On the palate it is a complex, full-bodied, structured wine with a chocolate flavor and a long finish. It's a drier wine (astringent) because it has a lot of tannin from the wood.
